What a Day for a Birthday Party!

Kendall had her birthday party today, and what a day it was. I think I saw the high was 90! It turned out to be "a beautiful day" as Tyler likes to say. I'm so thankful my friend Sara brought her camera to take pictures so I would have some of Kendall's party. The one good thing about having someone else take pictures means I end up in a few. I think everyone had a good time, we ordered pizza, served cupcakes and opened the basement up for indoor/outdoor play. Kendall didn't quite know what to make of blowing out the candles, she just sat there and stared at the candles and then stared at her friends all waiting patiently around her. Someone had to help her out.
The cupcakes were yummy.

Kendall got lots of great gifts. She couldn't always get into the action of opening up her own gifts. The older kids wanted to "help" but at least we were done fast.

She got a sweet ride from mommy & daddy.
And here was Colin trying to get her to put on her mermaid tutu from Tyler. We're so thankful to have the friends we do.

Most of Kendall's friends are mainly Tyler's friends but we did have one girl show up that is in Kendall's preschool class so it was cute to watch them together. I think that made Kendall's day.

Happy Birthday to you, happy birth . . .

"No don't sing it!" Yes this is the first thing my lovely daughter said to me when I walked into her room this morning singing happy birthday to you. Uhm I'm wondering if this is just a sign of things to come. Terrible Two's bring it on! I couldn't take any new birthday pictures today so I'll have to do a year in review. Here she is last year when she turned one.

And here are some of my favorites throughout the year that I took. Happy Birthday Kendall to the sweet (mostly) little girl I always knew I wanted.

First Pony Ride

Last Sunday we went on what was our first of many trips to Davis Farmland this season. Sad that I still have no camera we were able to get a few of Kendall on her first pony ride with Kevin's cell phone. I had to walk around with her because I wasn't so sure she'd stay on by herself. And the pony didn't like me getting too close to his rear he kept hip checking me. Anyway the kids had fun and are looking forward to all the trips they plan on making with our season passes. Enjoy!

I'm a Rock Star

Well I may not have a camera right now but my phone does bad quality video and I just had to get this video of Kendall rocking out in the car on our way to Gymboree. And before you ask, yes that is Pink on the radio and no mommy can't listen to the wiggles all the time. So What, she's a rock star!

All Tired Out

This was the last picture I took before I broke the lens on my camera. I was taking the camera with me on our first venture to the park this season. Put the camera in the bag, picked up kid, picked up bag, out plopped camera. I thought it was fine until I got to the park and the camera wouldn't focus. Luckily I was already supposed to be getting a new nicer zoom lens for my birthday and because my wonderful husband likes to procrastinate this all worked out perfect. I found the lens he was going to buy me significantly cheaper someplace else so I was able to buy a nicer replacement lens and the super cool new zoom lens. Now I just have to wait for them to arrive. So needless to say I probably won't post anything until I'm able to take pictures again.

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail . . .

hopping down the bunny trail, hippity hoppity Easter . . . came and went. The kids enjoyed our little Easter celebration.

It was sort of uneventful the kids opened their baskets from the Easter Bunny (don't mind Tyler in his Christmas PJ's), we had our Egg hunt and the kids ate candy for lunch. I ended up with a migraine right about the time we were getting dressed to go out so I wasn't really into taking pictures or even being outside in the sunlight for very long. We did still manage our Easter hunt video:

I took some pictures. Luckily the meds kicked in by the afternoon so I can now update the blog and download pictures. Hope everyone had a great Easter.

So . . . What About The Kids?

So in case you were wondering what the kids were up to while Kevin and I relaxed on the beach, I thought I'd fill you in. Well let me just tell you the kids were busy. . . they just loved having Aunties Didi (aka Dee Dee Didi) and Kathy and cousins Abby and Joe Joe here. Even tonight as everyone is packing up, Tyler told me he was going to miss them. Along with the usual routine of swim class and school they all still managed to go to Harvard one day and Rhode Island the next! They sent us this picture while we were gone and the first thing I noticed was where they were. Our kids have now seen more of New England in the four days that we were gone than in the almost two years we've lived here. Mommy needs to get on the ball!

Caneel Bay, St. John

Kevin and I just got back last night from a little vacation away without the kids. It was so refreshing and we both really needed it. We stayed at the resort Caneel Bay on St. John Island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. (no TV and no telephones) It was beautiful. The water is a dazzling blue and so clear, it's just amazing. We did absolutely nothing and it was grand.
We had a beach front room so we had immediate access to the beach which was pretty cool. We woke every morning and played tennis then I spent most of the hours of my day floating on a raft in the ocean. (Can you see me?) I had a massage everyday that we were there.
It really can't get much better than that!

I hardly had anytime to be depressed about turning 35. We watched every sunset and had the best dinners.

As you can see in this picture it looks like I've already gained 10 lbs! It was funny one morning we woke up to find this little guy drinking the water on our deck (it's like a built in wash basin to get the sand off your feet before returning to your room) Anyway this guy is just drinking when all of a sudden his friend nudges him to get a move on. I think about 10 donkeys must have walked by in a row it was so cute. Anyway we really did have a great time and how could we not, look at the island, it really speaks for itself.
