Karate Kids

You won't want to mess with these kids! Don't they look tough?












Kendall finally got her uniform and it's probably bigger than Tyler's is. Not sure why that is but the teacher said it was the smallest they sold. Honestly I think it would fit Tyler better, but Kendall is a Pee Wee Panda and they wear Red and White with a black and white camo belt. Tyler is a Little Dragon and he's already made it up to Orange Belt, though he never keeps it on during class as you can see.












So you're probably wondering what do 2 year old's do in a Karate Class? And honestly I don't know but it keeps her out of my hair for 25 minutes. Actually they do a little bit of kicking, blocking, hitting or what looks like high fiving and following directions. It's quite cute and I think it's really good at building her confidence up because for someone who is always telling me she's shy she sure was trying to chat up the high school boys walking into the Y. When we were leaving class, she looked at me and said "I see guys" then she started saying loudly "Hi guys!" and waving and after we passed them "Bye Guys"! Then another car load of boys drove into the parking lot with their radio blaring some pop tune and she totally started dancing. Mommy got a glimpse of what it's going to be like in 10-15 years. Oh boy, if daddy could have only seen it.

Sing Along & Fun Day

Tyler's school had their end of year little production at the park near the school.
The day was perfect because even though it was not as hot has it has been, the next day it dropped another 10 degrees and rained. It was really cute to see the different classes all together singing their songs. Tyler's class was in yellow shirts and was basically the only class not singing.
Tyler was the only kid with his fingers in his mouth the whole time. Go figure, he's been all over the house singing all these songs and then when the time came, nothing!
Ok he did shakey shake his egg. I asked him what happened and he said he doesn't like to sing at the park only at school or outside at school. Ok whatever.
Tyler wasn't in the best mood this day, I think he's going through one of those "half" stages I've heard about. (you know 3 1/2 is supposed to be tougher than 3, 4 1/2 will be tougher than 4) Anyway I still managed to get some pictures of the grouch, I can't believe the school year will be over next week. Maybe that's why he's crabby, he doesn't want to spend his free days with mommy.

2nd Year Celebrating Memorial Day on the Common

Again this year we went to our town's celebration of Memorial Day held on the common. We ate cotton candy and waited for the parade to start. It was a bit sunny so you can see why the little guy needed to wear daddy's glasses. The biggest hit of the parade is when the little league teams come by and throw out candy. Daddy kept yelling at Tyler to pick up candy but both kids were happy with the one piece they got. Eventually they caught on and tried getting more and more but it was hard to eat candy and collect it at the same time. Of course then they expect everyone to throw out candy. After the parade Tyler went for a pony ride and I'm not sure if you can tell in the pictures or not but both Kevin and I thought he was going to fall off. He had a lollipop in his mouth so I was a little freaked out that he wouldn't be able to yell for help, the girl wasn't even paying attention.








So when Kendall thought it was her turn, I was like no way, Tyler gave her some love and it was all ok.
So as I'm sure you can guess we had a little sugar crash and slept the afternoon away (well Kendall anyway, Tyler helped daddy stain the stairs and you'll have to wait for our May pictures from ofoto to see those). Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Another Day Another Farmland Adventure

Today we headed to the Farmland again because it was construction expo day.






Tyler had fun working the excavator (Kendall did it too but was less impressed by it) But the real fun was had at the splash pad.








The Farmland doesn't normally open it up until the middle of June but I guess with the holiday weekend and some warmer weather they went ahead and opened a little earlier. The kids had a blast!

Playtown Express

I'm pretty sure I have another blog post with this same title but oh well, I'm not feeling too creative right now. Anyway we were invited to a super fun birthday party today at Playtown express. It had been awhile since we've been there and they changed it around a bit.
They still have the bounce houses which the kids LOVE but they also have this new bouncy slide. Kendall wanted to go down and because she is my little daredevil and has no fear I knew it would be ok to let her up, I knew I wouldn't have to go up after her. And sure enough she climbed right up and slid right down and when she got to the bottom she said "Again?" Tyler at her age would never have gone up. Or I should say he would never have came down without my assistance. Of course he had no problem doing it now. We sure did have a fun afternoon.

Hero Weekend at Davis Farmland

Since daddy had to leave this weekend for work, mommy wanted to keep us busy so we headed to Davis Farmland, already our season passes are proving very useful. As you can see Kendall was very excited. We did all the usual:



fed the animals,








milked a cow (not a real one),



rode a pony,








played at the playground,







went on a hayride but we also go to see some police and firemen because it was Hero weekend on the farm. So we jumped aboard a firetruck and tried on a hat,








Kendall could hardly keep the hat on it was so heavy. Today was a good day.
